(I accidentally had a 15 unit of panzers and mech infantry cut off behind polish lines- they sent two groups of ONE infantry behind my lines to cut them off when I was dealing with the french. I've been trying to get Vichy France allied with me, and have reputation at +141 after hundreds in bribes, but they won't even allow me military access. Well, basically it's May 1942 and Germany is still at peace with Russia. I learned a lot about the game as I played and probably would have conquered France a lot sooner had I cut off the Maginot line's supply lines instead of throwing unit after unit at them. (In late 1940 I invaded Sweden, Denmark and Norway so naval units were necessary). Since I wanted to limit myself in my first session to something easily understood, I took control of Germany, a land power, and completely ignored both air force and naval units from 1938-1941. I recently purchased HoI II and I must say, it is a most excellent and enthralling game.
